CONFIRMED: Rex Tillerson to visit Moscow next week

The Russian Foreign Ministry and US State Department have both confirmed that Rex Tillerson is to have talks with Sergei Lavrov on the 11th and 12th of April in Moscow.
This will be Tillerson’s first visit to Moscow since becoming Secretary of State under President Trump, although Tillerson is familiar with Moscow and has previously spoken with President Putin in his capacity as a businessman.
It is not yet clear whether Tillerson will meet with Putin, though the possibility remains open.
A statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry read,

St Petersburg Metro Blast Kills and Injures Scores

(MEEAt least nine people were killed and 20 injured in explosions in a train carriage at metro stations in St Petersburg on Monday, Russia’s national anti-terrorist committee said.
Interfax news agency quoted an unnamed source as saying the blast was caused by a bomb filled with shrapnel. Another source in Russia’s emergency services told Reuters there had been only one bomb blast.

UPDATE (4/3/2017 9:16 AM)  — Russian anti-terrorism committee says it has found and deactivated a bomb at another St. Petersburg subway station.

Fake news is many things. It can be lies, half-truths, deceptions and perhaps most sinister of all, stylised deceptions.
But what many do not pay close attention to is fake news by omission. When there are important global stories that are being ignored or supressed, this is as bad or worse than the more traditional style of fake news.

Rex Tillerson ditches NATO meeting, will travel to Moscow instead, to hold talks with a sovereign nation

It’s called leverage, and Trump is using it to get NATO member states to pay their fair share, or get out of the alliance.
Without American money and military might NATO crumbles. Trump has made no secret of the fact that America will not continue to pay the bill for the bulk of the alliance’s budget. Each member state needs to contribute its required share as stipulated in the alliance charter.
