Our frend Michael Witcoff speaks to me and Fr. Dcn Dr Ananias on his podcast concerning our new project on Orthodox apologetics and argumentation and how to integrate transcendental arguments in a coherent way. We cover apologetic methodology, the chapters we have complete so far, the projected audiences, how we look at Thomistic philosophy and theology and its (inadequate) apologetic, and why the transcendental argument for God is much more biblical, patristic and philosophically sound.
Can Theism be established logically? Is there a simple presentation of the transcendental argument that can be had in 15 minutes? In this video I attempt to boil down the presuppositional argument to a brief comparison and contrast with the atheist/secularist/materialist worldview as a test case. Logically the non-theist only has a limited number of paths it can take from its starting point. Early on, Sir Sceptic challenges this argument with his refined logic skills.

In this talk we move to Continental Philosophy and examine its origins and presuppositions, as well as the contrast to analytical philosophy. From Aquinas to Kant, we see the breakdown of philosophy from nominalism to empiricism, leading to the dialectics in Hegel’s Absolute Idealism. In the second hour, we move to Kierkegaard, Husserl and Heidegger.
