The response of the media and the #MeToo Democrats has been very soft compared to the response to charges made against Brett Kavanaugh during his confirmation hearings last year.

Harvey Weinstein is going on trial in New York for allegations that include rape and sexual assault relating to two unnamed accusers. He says the sexual encounters were consensual.

Out of the $47-million settlement, about $25-million will compensate women who accused the Hollywood producer of sexual misconduct. An estimated $12-million will cover the costs of lawyers who defended Weinstein’s former associates, and about $7-million will go to creditors of the film studio.
