Helsinki Theatrics: Trump meets Putin

The first official meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his counterpart Donald Trump was a fairly casual, unpeopled affair, absent bureaucrats and note takers.  This was what both wanted in Helsinki, men who believe in the gold weighting authority commands.  According to Masha Gissen of The New Yorker, their meeting reflected “their shared understanding of power: the triumph of nothing over everyone.”

Starving and Bombed Children of Yemen Seek Entrapment in Flooded Thai Cave

While the world watched and waited with bated breath for the outcome of the substantial global effort – involving over 100 cave divers from various countries, 1,000 members of the Thai Army and 10,000 others in various roles – to rescue a team of 12 young football players and their coach, who were trapped inside a flooded cave in Thailand for 17 days, 850,000 children were killed by human adults in other parts of the world, many of them simply starved to death in Yemen or other parts of Africa, Asia and Central/South America.

Bolton, MEK and Trump Iran Strategy

There are growing indications that the Trump administration plans to use the Mojahedin-e Khalq (People’s Mojahedin of Iran, or MEK) as a key element in its strategy to destabilize Iran preparatory to regime change.

On July 1, 2017 John Bolton, former State Department official and Trump supporter, addressed a large gathering of MEK supporters in Paris.

Fox News’ Tucker Carlson addressed on his program the problems with CNN’s “dual reality” in which he notes that the president of the news organization claimed that the way to success was nothing but “hard news, hard news, and hard news.” This piece was ironically called, “How Jeff Zucker made CNN great again.” Given the antics and the reputation that the cable network has earned for itself since this piece was written (August of 2016), it is at least

Putin’s spokesman says Russia doesn’t believe fake news CNN either

The Russian TASS News Agency reported that the matter of Syria will be fully discussed in the upcoming July 16 Presidential Summit between Russia’s Vladimir Putin and America’s Donald Trump. This was affirmed by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
However, CNN claimed that the US President would make a deal with Mr. Putin that would allow him to pull US troops completely out of Syria. The Russian response to this was quite skeptical.
