The occasion was an endorsement of Jamie Raskin, the progressive who is Matthews' chief rival for the Democratic nomination in Maryland's Eighth congressional district, by MAYDAY.US, the Super PAC dedicated to advancing campaign finance reform by attracting grassroots support to "champions of democracy" who can be counted on to lead the fight for such reform in Congress.

Many concerned Californians felt very let down when the establishment shills inside the California Democratic Party-- the Gavin Newsom wing basically-- backed away from holding reactionary New Dem Ami Bera accountable at the recent state convention by ending the short-lived withholding on the Democratic Party endorsement.

Donna Edwards has been an active and effective part of the progressive community for decades and one of the most effective and steadfast leaders inside Congress for a progressive agenda that advances the legitimate aspirations of working families.

Donna Edwards is giving up a safe congressional seat in a deep blue district (MD-04) in Prince George's County, where Obama won in 2012 with 78%, to run for the open Senate seat of one of her mentors, Barbara Mikulski. Last year Donna won her own reelection bid with 70%, the best of any incumbent in Maryland.

It's becoming harder and harder to watch MSNBC election coverage. I find myself flipping the channel whenever Chris Matthews comes on. His brand of corporate, establishment conservatism colors everything he says. His sly, vicious little jihad against Bernie has been turning more and more Bernie supporters off to MSNBC entirely. I honestly have no idea who Rachel Maddow, Lawrence O'Donnell or Chris Hayes leans towards, if anyone.

If yesterday's results are indicative of what it expect in November, it looks like Americans will be, once again, asked to choose between 2 really awful nominees... another less-of-two-evils election that is sure to turn off millions of Americans and hold down voter turnout. Who the hell-- other than what Trumpf calls his beloved "poorly educated"-- voters wants to be culpable for the kind of endemic corruption that would be at the heart of either a Trumpf or a Clinton Administration? Is he so much more than she is? Sure. She's the lesser of two evils, evil, but the lesser evil.
