RT banned from Macron events. Is a national ban next?

Despite asking for full press accreditation in April, the Macron campaign did not give RT what is a standard press credential to cover major campaign events. According to RT, Emmanuel Macron’s campaign didn’t give an actual reason for denying RT’s journalists and crew passes. They instead, repeatedly stated,

“They are still being processed”.

French Elections: Here’s how the second round might shape up

Early projections show that the two winners of the First Round of French Presidential elections are Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen.
Early indications are that Macron inched ahead of Le Pen, but with polls having only just closed, it is still too early to call.
That Le Pen and Macron would continue on to the second round of voting next month was largely predicted. The strength of each candidate’s numbers will surely indicate who may be the stronger candidate in the penultimate contest.

BREAKING: Macron to face Le Pen in 2nd round of French vote

Initial projections, which are usually very reliable in France, make Emmanuel Macron the front-runner in the first round of the French Presidential election with 23.7% of the vote.
Marine Le Pen came second with 21.7% of the vote.
The other two leading candidates, Francois Fillon and Jean-Luc Melenchon, appear to have come almost equal third, with about 20% of the vote each.

Here’s why Vladimir Putin prefers Francois Fillon to Le Pen as President of France

Unlike the British election, which interests them not at all, the Russians are following the French election closely.
President Putin will never say publicly who he wants to win the French election.  If pressed he will say – rightly – that it is none of his business, and that he will work with whoever the French people elect for their President.  I suspect he even says this in private to his officials.

Marine Le Pen: Why I’m with her

Like many post-imperial western European states, France has not recovered easily from the scars of its lost empire.
The brutality of late-colonial French suppression of freedom fighters in French Indo-China (later Vietnam) and Algeria is among the darkest moments in French history and indeed all of European colonial history.
This is something that many in France continue to grapple with. The post-colonial collective conscience of France is still conflicted, angry and at times even desperate.

WATCH: Nigel Farage blasts EVERYONE in mainstream British politics

Nigel Farage has explained why he will not stand in the forthcoming and totally unexpected British General Election, set for the 8th of June. The former UK Independence Party leader who Donald Trump nicknamed ‘Mr. Brexit’ has said that the EU Parliament and not the British Parliament will be where the crucial Brexit negotiations take place.
He has a valid point, as the ultimate decision on the nature of Brexit will be between the EU and the UK. Internal British arguments will merely be the preamble to presenting a final proposal to be debated in Brussels.

The Main Issue in the French Presidential Election: National Sovereignty

By Diana Johnstone | CounterPunch | April 21, 2017 Paris – The 2017 French Presidential election marks a profound change in European political alignments. There is an ongoing shift from the traditional left-right rivalry to opposition between globalization, in the form of the European Union (EU), and national sovereignty. Standard media treatment sticks to a […]
