Last year it was reported that unscrupulous drug manufacturers and distributors have pumped hundreds of millions of prescription opioids into small-town West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New Hampshire, encouraging drug addiction.

The House Democratic leadership is downright geriatric and steeped in plenty of old discredited ideas. They are roadblocks to marijuana legalization, primarily because they fear to make it any kind of a priority for the party. Steny Hoyer will be 79 in June. Nancy Pelosi turns 78 in March. Jim Clyburn will be 77 in July. The designated successor to take over the House Democratic leadership-- a corrupt Wall Street whore and the Queens machine boss, Joe Crowley-- is considered a young kid; he turns 55 in March.
In a blatant example of “do as I say, not as I do,” the US government is profiting handsomely by accepting marijuana cash in the payment of taxes while imposing huge penalties on banks for accepting it as deposits. Onerous reporting requirements are driving small local banks to sell out to Wall Street. Congress needs to harmonize federal with state law.
