In the Italy, Germany, or Spain of the 1930s, however, this ideology of exclusion and fear, defined by a hatred of the other, together with a tyrannical executive power, was called by its proper name: fascism. Mussolini in Italy, Hitler in Germany and Franco in Spain were the bloodthirsty tenors of capitalism’s symphony orchestra, singing the deadly opera quietly conducted by the military-industrial complex.

US president Donald Trump’s ‘beautiful’ trade war with China is going great, if market drops, loss of investment, volatility, and price hikes are how one measures ‘winning’.
After all, Trump said that trade wars are ‘easy to win’ and sometimes necessary.
Now he’s got one, but the figures are returning the sort of results that one would typically associate with ‘winning’ or ‘success’.

This week Chuck Ochelli joins me to discuss geopolitics and the problems of the world. We start off discussing the recent Singapore Summit between North Korea and the US. Chuck and I both offer our opinions and analysis of the “deal” that is being hammered out by Trump. We talk about the realities of what is actually being presented, and discuss the larger context of what this may mean for the Korean Peninsula.

India joins a host of other countries who are ticked off about America’s inflated and exceptionalist perception of its own importance in the world. The new presidential administration under Donald Trump came to power on the ‘America first’ mantra, that America should put its own interests before those of other nations.
But America has put itself in a position where it basically runs the show on the global markets, and has integrated itself to the degree that it can’t do anything without affecting everyone else.

Florida: Eugenior Joseph was wearing his pro-Trump MAGA (Make America Great Again) hat when he went with his girlfriend’s family to the Cheesecake Factory Restaurant at the Dadeland Mall to celebrate Mother's Day. He is suing the restaurant because employees confronted him, used a racial slur against him, and threatened to hit him in the head hard enough to knock off his hat. The restaurant announced that two of its employees have been suspended. [...]

Kanye West doubled down on leaving the 'Democrat Plantation' by tweeting a photo of himself in a MAGA hat and wrote that, while he doesn't agree with everything Trump or anyone else does, the mob can't make him not love Trump. Then he sent out a message, "Obama was in office for eight years and nothing in Chicago changed," criticizing him for failing to stop the violence. Kanye is facing a firestorm because Democrats fear the loss of the black voting block that would be devastating to the party.
