The Second American Civil War has a geographical dividing line rather different than the first Civil War did. The Mason-Dixon Line was a figurative reference for a long geographical border separating the Slave States from the Union States (a.k.a. “Free States” even though they were not exactly free). The boundary is show on maps and is easy to find. It is essentially a line running east-west across most of the territory now occupied by the Lower 48 US states. But the geographical divisions for this new war should be all circles, drawn around most of our large cities.

To follow the news such as the network news sites present it, one might be led to think that all of America is aflame, whoever is not aflame is dying from coronavirus, and that masked faces are the new normal across the nation and around the world. Total and complete dystopia is having its day in this rather negative attempt to make Art represent real Life.

Tucker Carlson delivered another scathing review of the state of affairs in the United States, with liberal governments actually showing themselves as more and more culpable in the deaths of people precisely because of the coronavirus lockdowns, which were touted as life-saving. His monologue, a ten-minute, absolutely packed commentary, delivered the strongest blow yet to the latest coup attempt in progress. However, he is not saying anything we did not already sense or know. For example:

Doctor Ben Carson ran for President in 2016, and now he serves President Trump as the Secretary of Housing and Development. He was a superb pick because he lived as a severely disadvantaged black boy growing up in the ghetto. One can read more about his story even on Wikipedia, and see that this man had no “privilege” whatsoever, yet he is a world-renowned neurologist. He is deeply Christian, and deeply focused.

US Chief Justice Roberts joined the liberals on the Supreme Court and ruled that California Governor Newsom's stay-at-home order does not violate religious freedoms.

The “liberal versus conservative” political polarization has been on a massive increase over the last three decades in the United States. Where there used to be dispassionate policy discussions, debate and often some sort of compromise over policy decisions based in ideological theories, now, people of differing political viewpoints appear to be more and more “siloed” with some disturbing results. Among these is the increasing conviction that America is headed for a Second Civil War.

The Guardian reported that some liberal white women are paying $2,500 to be lectured on how racist they are in meetings called 'Race to Dinner'. So far fifteen dinners have been held in major cities across the US.

Strictly party-line with an asterisk. President Trump acquitted of the two articles of impeachment 52-28 not guilty of “Abuse of Power” and 53-47 not guilty of “Obstruction of Congress.” The asterisk was Utah Republican Senator Mitt Romney, who delivered a lofty sounding defense of the need to follow his principles, religious and otherwise to try and convict a President of a crime that had little more than political significance.

Anyone following the tumultuous presidency of Donald Trump knows that there is a very large group of angry liberals, globalists, deep-staters and Democrats (and not a few “RINO” Republicans) who really, really, really wish Mr. Trump would go away. Permanently.

It is easy to report on the United States “from the outside”, by scanning the discussion from the major media outlets. It is a different matter to describe what is actually going on from the point of view of “ordinary Americans.” To do that, one has to be in the country talking and listening to people.
