Seniors In Kentucky Need Coverage For Eyes And Teeth, No?

In July, 2015, Alan Grayson introduced a bill, H.R. 3308, Seniors Have Eyes, Ears, and Teeth Act. It was a short, easily understood piece of legislation, an amendment to the Expansion of Medicare Coverage: "To expand Medicare coverage to include eyeglasses, hearing aids, and dental care." Sounds good to me, as it did in 2015.

Abolish ICE Movement Spreads as Activist Encampments Shut Down Multiple Facilities

(CD) — Protesters in Louisville, Kentucky were outraged Monday after police swiftly removed an encampment they had set up outside the city’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility as part of the national #OccupyICE movement. I cannot get my jaw off the floor the @louisvillemayor had the gall, the NERVE to speak in front of that rally on Saturday, […]

Will Trump Be Able To Save McConnell From Kentucky Voters In 2 Years?

Pelosi is one of the least liked politicians in America-- two caveats though: 1- her own constituents love her and showed it at the polls 2 weeks ago when 172,399 voters turned out-- more than any other district in California-- and gave her an overwhelming win against 6 challengers and 2- she's far more popular than Mitch McConnell, the most disliked elected official in America.McConnell's seat isn't up this November.

Kentucky Legislature Passed A Tax Hike For 95% Of Kentuckians-- But At Least The Rich Get Cuts

Beshear and BevinA Democratic campaign operative friend of mine does so well that he generally gets to pick any race he wants to run and he can avoid races that have been infiltrated-- even body-snatched-- by the DCCC or EMILY’s List. And unlike them, he wins, even in long shot match-ups. He loves Kentucky-- it must be the bourbon-- and he may run Andy Beshear’s campaign for governor in 2020.

Winning In Red States With Marijuana Legalization

Remember a couple weeks ago there was an amazing legislative seat flip in Kentucky? Democrat Linda Belcher beat Rebecca Johnson for the open state House seat (49th district). On February 20th, Belcher won 68.4% to 31.6% in a district Trump had won 72% to 23% (and which Romney had won 66-33%). That's a really red district and Belcher's 45-point improvement on Hillary’s performance was engineered by a legendary Kentucky political figure, Mike Ward. Ward was Belcher's campaign manager.

The Terror Strikes Again-- Suicide In Kentuckiana

The other night, I was at a political fundraiser and some vanity candidate in another race in another state crashed the event. One of her supporters who came with her told me that another candidate in the primary race is a womanizer and strongly insinuated he harasses women. They apparently have every intention of destroying this guy's career, although he has already accomplished significant things and she... as far as I can tell, hasn't accomplished anything at all in the public sphere, nothing bad, nothing good... nothing at all. Vanity candidates are the strangest bunch.
