On Thursday 10 May 2018, an unprecedented exchange of strikes happened between Israel and Syria.

The “West” is competing against the “East” on the Syrian battle-field, in conflicting news and analysis, and now also in the cultural and film arena. A new full-length action movie, titled Damascus Time, gives an Iranian perspective on the battle against ISIS in Syria.

Most of Syria’s ‘rebels’ are not Syrians, but instead are jihadists from around the world, fundamentalist Sunnis who have been recruited, with funding provided mainly by the Sauds who own Saudi Arabia, and by the Thanis who own Qatar, and by the six royal families who own UAE.

My neighbor is in synch with Bernie's views but she's a personal friend of Bill and Hillary Clinton and she voted for Hillary in 2016. So did her son. Her son, who's in his 40s, is sorry he did. After the election he changed his mind and is now firmly committed to Trump. How firmly? He's a well-educated and talented guy and believes Trump is using the things he writes in his speeches. Writes? Yes, he halted his cable connection-- thinking mainstream TV is controlled by liberals-- and now gets all his info from some very extreme right/extreme Trump internet sites.

On April 9, 2018 at least 14 people were killed during the murderous strike by the Israeli air force on the Syrian T-4 airfield at Homs.
Israeli F-15 fighter jets flew over Lebanese airspace, as they have done on many previous occasions, in total disregard of international law.
Both Israel and Lebanon are still technically at war, and the latest action could easily be considered as yet another shameless provocation. Apparently, whatever terror Western allies like Saudi Arabia and Israel decide to spread throughout the region, their actions will always go unpunished.

The book is a reminder, which we need from time to time, of the outrageous hypocrisy and deceit of the US government and the corporate media.
