Recep Tayyip Erdoğan (aka the Prez) and his ruling Justice and Development Party (or AKP) have for years been working hard to alter the appearance as well as the substance of the nation-state that is Turkey. And in this respect, the figure of the Turkish President himself seems to have been the ultimate prime-mover, forcing the execution of effective changes while simultaneously constantly dominating the headlines.

It’s official, the American liberal left have become pathologically hateful on an international scale.
For decades, such people have engaged in domestic sectarian politics by both exploiting latent racial and ethnic tensions. When that became ‘passé’, they simply invented new sectarian groups which were inorganic in their composition. Most of these invented groups were based on a combination of constructed gender identity ‘issues’, drug and surgery induced body modification and beyond that, various lifestyles which were elevated to the level of proper socio-political sects.

The 2nd of May marks the three year anniversary of one of the most tragic events of the 21st century. 42 peaceful protesters were killed when gangs of fascist thugs, most from far outside the region, went on a rampage that can only be described as hellish.

The Prelude
For months, peaceful protesters had set up camp outside the Odessa Trade Unions House. They were there to show solidarity against the fascist, nationalistic and ultra-right wing forces gathered on the Maidan in Kiev.

The title of this post is a sentence from Matt Ridley's recent speech at the Association for Private Enterprise Education in Maui, Hawaii. The statement is a good reminder that the most destructive and murderous actions in history were carried out by governments. Government use of force against ethnic groups is far more effective than private use of force against these same groups.

Fascism is the wicked ideology that brought the world closer to collapse than any other in modern history. The blood of nearly 30 million Soviet soldiers is a testament to this harrowing struggle. The decades of peace that ensued in Europe and the Soviet Union after the 9th of May 1945, stands as a vindication of the anti-fascist post-war policies instigated by the USSR.
