UK COLUMN: UK Gov’t Funding Terrorism in Syria, Macron’s Meltdown, Michael Flynn, City State Agenda

This week’s lead story is the UK government’s funding of terrorists in Syria under the cover “helping the opposition” through its  Conflict Stability and Security Fund (CSSF) slush fund. We’ll also cover the Michael Flynn distraction which is being used to cover-up two much bigger scandals, along with French President Macron’s embarrassing meltdown in Ghana.

Rename the Lester B. Pearson Airport

Many monuments, memorials and names of institutions across Canada celebrate our colonial and racist past. Calls for renaming buildings or pulling down statues are symbolic ways of reinterpreting that history, acknowledging mistakes and small steps towards reconciling with the victims of this country’s policies.
At its heart this process is about searching for the truth, a guiding principle that should be shared by both journalists and historians.

Ghana’s Gandhi Statue to be “Moved”

The government of Ghana has announced that a statue of Mahatma Gandhi will be removed from its position on the campus of the University of Ghana in Accra after it finally dawned on them that the Indian leader, far from being a “champion of harmony,” was in fact a virulent anti-black racist.
The statue will be removed from its prominent position to a “place of safety,” only a few months after it was unveiled by the Indian President, Shri Prenab Mukhereje, during his state visit to Ghana last year.
