Whenever national-level elections take place in any country, other countries have an interest in the outcome. Major powers want to make sure smaller ones continue to toe-the-line, or are ripe for conversion to their side of the argument. Smaller countries want to remain, or become, first in the queue when new aid or partnership arrangements are discussed. So every country tries to influence elections, in the same way they try and influence governments when they are in power.

A Georgia hospital is refusing to perform a life-saving kidney transplant on a 2-year-old boy born without kidneys because his father – the only donor match – violated parole.
The toddler’s father, Anthony Dickerson, 26, has had several run-ins with law enforcement, including his latest arrest in September on weapons and forgery charges.
But says his mistakes shouldn’t impact his son’s chances at having a normal chance at life.

Yesterday, the Duran reported that Mikhail Saakashvili successfully entered Ukraine after he and his entourage literally pushed and shoved their way past border guards who were intent on keeping him out.
Now that he is in western Ukraine where he has been greeted by a group of visibly enthusiastic supporters, something unusual has happened. For the first time in many years, Mikhail Saakashvili is finding himself in a position of potential popularity.

Mikhail Saakashvili has spent the better part of the day attempting to go back to Ukraine after Petro Poroshenko the leader of the Kiev regime stripped him of his Ukrainian citizenship in a power-play against the former Georgian leader who has incidentally also been stripped of his Georgian citizenship after numerous fraud allegations.
Saakashvili is probably best remembered for instigating a war of aggression against the people of South Ossetia and Abkhazia in 2008. Both Russia and the European Union found that Saakashvili was an aggressor in the short conflict.

PRZEMYSL, September 10 (Sputnik) – Former Georgian President and ex-Governor of Ukraine’s Odessa Region Mikheil Saakashvili said on Sunday that he had changed his strategy for returning to Ukraine by train and turned to his initial plan to enter the country by car via the Krakowiec checkpoint on Ukraine-Poland border.

PITSUNDA (Abkhazia), (Sputnik) – Russia and Abkhazia will develop closer security cooperation in the Caucasian region, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday.
Earlier in the day, Putin arrived in Abkhazia to commemorate the ninth anniversary of the conflict in South Ossetia and Abkhazia, which erupted in August 2008, and to hold negotiations with Abkhazian President Raul Khajimba.
