Al-Masdar has received information from local activists reporting that ferocious fighting between two terrorist groups has killed scores of terrorist fighters from both sides including several top commanders.
The fighting broke out between the FSA linked jihadist group Liwa al-Tawheed and the al-Qaeda affiliate/offshoot Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham.
Maria Zakharova, the spokeswoman for Russia’s Foreign Ministry has slammed a recent press release from the Salafist terrorist group Failaq Al-Rahman, an affiliate of the Turkish proxy terrorist group FSA.
They recently came out with a press release claiming that Syria launched a chlorine gas attack on their area of occupation in East Ghouta. The statement was drafted in perfect English, using many terms that one would more readily associate with a lawyer than with terrorists who presumably do not speak English as their native tongue.
The Syrian Arab Army has not ceased its fighting against jihadists in southern Syria in spite of coming under attack from US forces earlier this week.
Syrian forces have just recaptured the strategically important Dakwah hilltop located 60 kilometres outside of Damascus from FSA terrorists who themselves recently took the hill from ISIS.
This comes as Syrian Arab Army troops yesterday captured Tal al-Abd hill top in the desert regions outside of Damascus in the south of the country.

Large fires have broken out near Damascus Airport after weapons strikes were reported during the night. The strikes were said to have targeted a munitions arsenal which subsequently burst into flame.

The primarily Turkish backed jihadist group Free Syrian Army (FSA) have killed two Russian soldiers in Syria’s Hama Governorate in central Syria.
According to a statement released from the FSA, the soldiers were killed by an anti-tank missile manufactured in the United States.
The FSA are currently engaged in fierce fighting with the Syrian Arab Armies and their allies, including Russia, throughout Syria.
Russia has yet to comment on the FSA claim.
For many years, ISIS and al-Qaeda have had the same goals, used the same barbaric methods of conquest and have had many of the same Gulfi benefactors; Saudi Arabia and Qatar in particular.
Now, both Salifist organisations may formally unite their operations in Iraq and possibly beyond.

Turkey’s illegal invasion and occupation of Syria is known by Ankara as Operation Euphrates Shield. It formally commenced on the 24th of August, 2016. According to Turkey, Euphrates Shield was aimed at fighting ISIS as well as Kurdish YPG forces near the Turkish border.
In reality, Turkey has trained, armed and funded members of the jihadist Free Syrian Army in what Syria classifies as a war of aggression. In recent months, the operation became far more about fighting Kurdish forces in Syria than about any of Turkey’s other wider goals such as regime change in Damascus.
