Google notified that my article from 20 years ago was recently reposted so I will run it up the flagpole here as well.   That piece was partially spun off from my 1999 book, Freedom in Chains (St. Martin’s Press.  Here is a paragraph from that book that did not make it into the article below:

Governor Brian Kemp overruled all local governments that issued a mandatory mask order. He is suing Atlanta Mayor Keisha Bottom over her mandatory mask order and said the lawsuit is on behalf of Atlanta business owners and their employees who are struggling to survive during these difficult times.

Louisiana AG Jeff Landry issued an opinion against the mask order because the governor has no power to turn an executive order into a law that applies to citizens. Landry said that if police that try to enforce the mandate, under color of law, they could face liability if individual civil rights are violated.

The former governor says that much of the problem is the failure of Republicans to even attempt to intervene. He says that, when he was Governor of Missouri, there was courage and clarity of purpose to protect freedom of speech, but also to stop cold in its tracks any attempt to injure people or destroy property.

Soros-funded DA's who avoid prosecuting crime and bail-reform that allows the release of criminals will create a barbaric society. Guns sales are going through the roof because "the cavalry ain't coming." The stage is carefully being set to create a public demand for martial law. That's the goal of the deep state.

Peggy Hall says there is no law requiring the closure of small businesses in California and, therefore, they cannot be fined for staying open. Governor Newsom's tweet is not a law, and statements published on the website of the California Department of Public Health are not law either.

Contra Costa County District Attorney Diana Becton, whose campaign was funded by George Soros, charged protesters with a hate crime and is seeking to put them in prison for a year for painting over a city-approved mural on the street that reads 'Black Lives Matter'.

People will accept any insult to their liberties in order to survive, which is the reason why one crisis after another is scientifically engineered. Confusion and fear is the secret weapon of tyrants. This will continue until a significant segment of the population (perhaps 15%) understands the scam and pushes back.

Trump’s broad rollback of Obamacare rules that required employers to provide free birth control to women. But employers are no longer forced to participate in providing cost-free contraceptives to employees. Congressman Jerry Nadler said the regulations upheld by the Court can be reversed by a new President.
