Trump And Republican Death Cult Governors Are Following Japan's Lead In Opening Up Business Way Too Early

Shinzo Abe's right wing government opened up for business too fast-- just as Trump is planning to do-- and bullying easily-bullied governors into doing. What's happening in Japan is what's going to happen in, for example, Florida and Texas-- both of which are eager to open up again. COVID-19 infections have been spiking in Florida like mad.

The Pandemic’s Toll on Federalism

The coronavirus pandemic has had a deadly toll on the world’s population. However, the pandemic has also seen another, collateral, victim. Various forms of federations, where a central executive should provide an equal safety and health umbrella over all of the constituent parts of the federal entity, have seen the centers shirk their responsibilities and either failed to act for the nation as a whole or played favorites with certain member constituencies.

Can Trump Fan Boy Matt Gaetz Be Beaten?

The Florida Panhandle has a lot more in common with Alabama than it does with the rest of Florida. In fact, if the state could somehow talk Alabama into annexing the Panhandle, Florida would be a dependably blue state. The amendment was sponsored by a wide coalition including the ACLU, the Christian Coalition and the Koch Brothers' Freedom Partners. It was generally supported by Democrats, independents and moderate Republicans. Far right and extremist Republicans like Ron DeSantis opposed it. DeSantis, an anti-democracy Trumpist was on the ballot the same day.
