Anheuser-Busch (AB InBev), the maker of Budweiser beer, has committed to 100% renewable energy sources, making it the largest “direct purchaser of renewable electricity in the global goods sector.” The move would shift 6 terawatt-hours of electricity annually from fossil fuels to solar, wind, and other renewable sources. On September 9, California regulators took a step toward becoming the first U.S. state to require energy efficiency standards for computers and monitors, which account for 3% of home electric bills and 7% of commercial power costs in the state. [1]
The California Energy Commission released a report, its final one, claiming the proposed standards could save consumers $373 million annually. The projected energy savings under the plan equal the electricity used each year by all the homes in San Francisco.
Shack fires are a constant danger. But that danger becomes more serious in winter. This is because during winter people who are living in shacks are trying to keep warm. As a result people resort to making fires which increases the risk of their homes being burnt.
