The epidemic caused by a new strain of Coronaviruses, called “2019-nCOV” by the World Health Organization (WHO) on January 30, is becoming a crucial factor in the current phase of ongoing political and economic processes.

The confrontation between China and the United States is growing in intensity day by day, and clearly the war drums are being beaten in Washington.

We have already conducted a preliminary analysis of what the situation on the Korean Peninsula will look like in 2020, and what is happening now goes to show that although the dialog is not being broken off, there is a hardening of attitudes, which we can see is inevitable.

January 19, 2020, marked the 60th anniversary of the signing of an agreement with the wordy title of “Treaty of Mutual Cooperation and Security between the United States of America and Japan”. Incidentally, Nobusuke Kishi (the maternal grandfather of current Prime Minister Shinzō Abe) penned his signature on the document on behalf of Japan.

China has been hit by coronavirus as if by a brick over the head; heavily and mercilessly. Instead of help, Beijing has received criticism, even verbal attacks.
In spite of doing tremendous job fighting the epidemy, China is getting almost no tributes for its performance.
