The United States Air Force has struck a contingent of the Syrian Arab Army and allied fighters near At Tanf in southern Syria. The US has a military outpost in At Tanf which is close to both the Iraqi and Jordanian border.
This is the second time that the US has bombed elements of the Syrian Arab Army since Donald Trump became President.
According to Syria, the casualties of the attack are as follows:
Two days ago, hundreds were reported killed after a chemical weapons depot exploded in Deir ez-Zor, Syria. The blast occurred when US coalition aircraft bombed a location controlled by ISIS.
The fact that this isn’t a major story is beyond troubling; it is surreal.

Update 2: The Pentagon has admitted to mistakenly killing 18 Syrians in an airstrike on April 11th:
Syria has stated that US led coalition bombings of ISIS in Deir ez-Zor hit a chemical weapons depot used by ISIS.
The resultant chemical weapons explosions are said to have killed ‘several hundred civilians’.
The statement from the Syrian General Staff reads.
In the present context Power’s charges of barbarism against Russia and Syria was used to justify the US aerial bombardment of a Syrian army outpost, which killed and maimed almost 200 government troops engaged in combating ISIS terrorists and jihadi invaders.
In other words, accusing Syrian soldiers of ‘barbarism’ was Ambassador Power’s cynical way of dehumanizing the young victims of an earlier and deliberate US war crime.
