What could have been a normal Saturday night in Hermosa Beach, California chasing calls for KATMAN of ONUS News Service, almost turned into a chest bumping and tough guy contest. When what would have been a simple call to investigate suspicious activity (individual checking doors) turned into a perfect display of how exactly not to conduct yourself as a uniformed police officer.

Three Citizen Journalists, Chris Ponte Of Oregon CopBlock, Robert West of Film the Police 911 and Muhammad Abdullah of WestCoast Auditors News Network loaded up and hit the road to conduct a series of 1st Amendment audits on Multiple Police Departments across Oregon.

Last Week, July 3, 2017, in Arlington, Texas Latasha Nelson documented an interaction between herself and Arlington Police Officer Chad Haning. According to local media and the Next Generation Action Network this incident escalated from an unfounded accusation of auto burglary.  Officers claimed that the teen “fit the description” and the mother pleaded with the officer to let her son go because he was not who they were looking for.

Canton, Ohio police officers responding to a report of suspicious individuals, shot a teenager he claims that he saw a gun in the dark, the body camera video starts with the officer running in the dark after someone with no light or warning and then he starts yelling “get down” and then the shooting starts. The video continues to document a foot pursuit that lasts a few more seconds when the shooting victim is trapped against a wooden fence.
