WATCH: Maryland Cop Shoots Man in Back in Negligent Discharge

A Maryland cop who serves as a firearms instructor and was caught on video shooting an unarmed burglary suspect in the back in April was no-billed by a grand jury.
The Laurel Police Department, and the cop who has not yet been named, claim the shooting of Rawshawn Lavon Curbean was unintentional, but Curbean’s attorney Patrick Preller said, “Mr. Curbeam was unarmed, shot in the back and not posing a threat to the officer when he was shot down.”

Baltimore Cops Commended for Shooting Mentally Ill Suspect After Body Cam Footage Released

Two Baltimore cops who shot a mentally ill man as he wielded knives and a cane on Friday were commended by their police union president.
“We support Officers Jones and Brown and commend them on their actions as they did what was necessary to protect the lives of many others, as well as their own,” said Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 3 President Gene Ryan.
Video footage of the shooting was released on Wednesday after about 30 protesters assembled at the scene of the shooting last week.

U.S. Attorney Targets Activist who Helped Save 14-Year-Old From Torture and is Now on Two-Month Hunger Strike

Carmen Ortiz, a federal prosecutor in Massachusetts with a history of highly-criticized political prosecutions – including one that drove a programming prodigy to suicide – is now targeting an anti-child abuse activist for his role in hacking the donation page of Boston Children’s Hospital in 2014.
Martin Gottesfeld, 32, said he only did so to keep the hospital from torturing a teenage girl, whose custody was stripped by the state at the request of the hospital.

Kentucky Man Convicted for Harassment for Photographing Cops in “Best Town on Earth”

There’s nothing illegal about making a YouTube video to showcase your community unless you live in Madisonville, Kentucky, a city of less than 20,000 that calls itself the “best town on earth” where cops may arrest you for doing just that.
At least that’s what happened to Ian Rogers in August after he took several photographs of the Madisonville Police Station and ended up arrested and charged with harassment.

PINAC Reporter Ejected from Florida Governor Press Conference without Explanation

PINAC reporter Jeff Gray believes Florida Department of Law Enforcement officers were the ones who had him ejected from a press conference where Governor Rick Scott was going to brag a .1 percentage reduction in the state’s unemployment rate last week.
After all, the FDLE has not only been monitoring him for years through the Florida Fusion Center, Gray was initially welcomed into the press conference along with the rest of the St. Augustine media on November 18.
But that was before Scott’s FDLE security detail arrived at Ideal Aluminum Products and began sizing him up.

Idaho Police Union President and Wife Arrested for Heist on Police Union Lodge

A picture posted to Facebook on March 13 shows a former Idaho police union president and his wife eating well after tens of thousands of dollars were discovered missing from a Boise police union lodge.
The money was discovered missing in January, which was when Boise police officer Mark Furniss was asked to step down as union president. His wife, Sara, who was office manager for the union lodge, also stepped down.

Massachusetts Cop Married to Police Chief Rapes Inmate in Closet

What happens in the closet stays in the closet, right?
At least that’s what a Massachusetts cop was hoping for when he forced a drunk, naked inmate into a closet and performed oral sex on him before raping him on Halloween night.
Salem police officer Brian Butler, 56, said he simply “gave into temptation.” And insists the sex act between him and the 28-year-old man was consensual.
Considering he is married to the department’s police chief, he should be protected, right?
Except there’s video.

And the Cook County Medical Examiner confirmed that Kajuan Raye was shot in the back as well as multiple times in the stomach.

Illinois Cop Resigns after Dash Cam Proves he Lied about Probable Cause to Search Man’s Car

The Illinois Cop who pulled Philip M. Williams over for an expired license plate sticker last August told the 31-year-old man that he smelled marijuana, which gave him probable cause to bring the police dog over and sniff around the car.
Despite Williams saying he did not consent to a search, the dog ended up finding 17 pounds of marijuana in the trunk, which led to his arrest on felony drug charges.
In his report, Woodstock police officer Eric Schmidtke stated that he had smelled marijuana, which gave him probable cause.
