… A few years ago I wrote that only in a state of emergency one can take full measure of somebody. Now we know where we are at. A statesman makes decisions, gives orders and requisitions. Macron, however, relies on the advice of “experts” who, as a rule, never agree with each other.

Coronademic: Venezuela’s drives obstructed

The entire human world is fighting to defeat a demon today. It’s coronademic – coronavirus pandemic. The fight demands a globally concerted, unified effort. Venezuela should not be left lurching in the pandemic-wilderness even if one of its original sins is resisting imperialism. But, the Bolivarian Republic is being obstructed in its fight against the pandemic. Imperialism is carrying on the “noble” job.

Meet the Americans Studying Medicine on the Cuban Government’s Dime

It’s a medical school like no other: the largest of its kind in the world. Paid, that is, by the Cuban government on the proviso that they return to the U.S. and serve underprivileged communities. Generally, students come from underprivileged backgrounds themselves and would not have been able to attend medical school in the U.S.

Several Korean religious freaks, apparently, are to blame.

Cuba Is Better Than Trump

The U.S. is probably handling the pandemic worse than any country in the world. And by the U.S., I mean Donald J. Trump. Watch Chris Martenson's podcast from yesterday, above. As I've been saying for two months, Trump has managed to make every wrong decision at every junction of this pandemic.Jacobin's Ben Burgis took a look at how Cuba is riding circles around Trump. Cuba-- you know, the country that conservatives, from Trump to Biden, have used to revile Bernie with, as a totalitarian hellhole.
