America’s War on Terror is the True Cause of Europe’s Refugee Crisis

Patrick COCKBURN

Desperate refugees crammed into cockle-shell boats landing on the shingle beaches of the south Kent coast are easily portrayed as invaders. Anti-immigrant demonstrators were exploiting such fears last weekend as they blockaded the main highway into Dover Port in order “to protect Britain’s borders”. Meanwhile, the home secretary, Priti Patel, blames the French for not doing enough to stop the flow of refugees across the Channel.

Saudi Arabia’s Mysterious Coronavirus Survival Abilities

Since the very onset of the Coronavirus Pandemic, economists and the media have been warning the public about the damaging effects that quarantine would and is having on the financial world. The yearly “growth” that we would normally expect was negative for many nations, especially in the West. However, the most interesting tale of economic survival in 2020 would have to be Saudi Arabia. Logically and statistically their country should look like North Korea in the 90’s and yet all things are quiet on the Arab front. How could this possibly be?

The Fed’s Brilliant Plan? More Inflation and Higher Prices

Ron PAUL
Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell recently announced that the Fed is abandoning “inflation targeting” where the Fed aims to maintain a price inflation rate of up to two percent. Instead, the Fed will allow inflation to remain above two percent to balance out periods of lower inflation. Powell’s announcement is not a radical shift in policy. It is an acknowledgment that the Fed is unlikely to reverse course and stop increasing the money supply anytime soon.

The Privileged vs. the People

America’s decadent elite is a plundering barbarian horde, leaving social and material destruction in its wake.
Andrew DORAN
“The Americans never use the word ‘peasant,’” Alexis de Tocqueville observed, “because they have no idea of the peculiar class which that term denotes.” Nor do Americans use “noble” or “aristocrat” or “barbarian.” However, the basic phenomena endure, even if the class structure and therefore the terms have evolved.

The Dissolution of Liberal Universalism

For a long time, the towns and cities of Europe (and the rest of the world) grew organically around the social, economic and political needs of the people. The result was the well-known, and much-loved, forms of ancient city, town and village, built from wood, brick or stone. This pattern remained unchanged for centuries. Then came two ‘World Wars’.

NATO in crisis

NATO’s Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg met German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin Thursday against a backdrop of challenges for the transatlantic military alliance, rising tensions in Europe and a political crisis in Belarus.
Addressing the situation in Belarus, Jens Stoltenberg denied accusations that NATO troops were gathering at the country’s border with Poland and Lithuania.

“NATO has no military build-up in the region so any excuse to use that as an excuse to crack down on peaceful protesters is absolutely unjustified,” Stoltenberg said.
