Two Mistrials in Two Trials for Alabama Cop Who Left Man from India Paralyzed

Officer Eric Parker of the Madison Police Department in Alabama is still a free man – yet again.
For the second time in two months, his trial for beating a man from India unable to understand English resulted in a mistrial.
In the first trial in September; the judge ordered a mistrial after a jury could not agree on a verdict, NBC reports.

Pennsylvania Cop Who Killed Man by Shooting Him in Back While Tasering Him Acquitted

Panicked that he was reaching for a gun, a Pennsylvania cop repeatedly tasered a man as he lay facedown in the snow, sending him into convulsions while yelling at him to stop moving.
When the man would not stop convulsing, Hummelstown police officer Lisa Mearkle shot him twice in the back, killing him.
Earlier today, a jury acquitted the 37-year-old police officer after viewing her body cam footage of the February 2, 2015 incident.
The video shows a complete overreaction on her part as there was no indication David Kassick even had a gun.

West Virginia State Trooper Sued by Grief Stricken Parents For Killing Unarmed Teen in His Own Driveway

Bereaved parents of a teen slain by a cop in his own driveway, and left to die without medical attention face down in a ditch have filed a Federal civil rights lawsuit against West Virginia State Trooper B.D. Gillespie and his agency.
Timothy Hill was a recent high school graduate, much shorter than burly West Virginia State Trooper Gillespie, and smaller in size too, when he pulled a prank on a neighbor, it led to his early demise.

High-Ranking FBI Agent Convicted of Assault on Teen Nearly Faints in Court After Verdict

Proving to be unstable, combative and petty, an FBI agent interjected himself in a family custodial dispute on behalf of his girlfriend and her estranged husband, who was two hours late in dropping off their baby.
But FBI Agent Gerald Rogero’s intrusive attempts at heroism led to him assaulting and threatening to shoot the 15-year-old son of the estranged husband’s girlfriend.
He then threatened the teen’s mother with arrest when she tried to intervene.

Oklahoma Cop Accused of Raping 13 Women on Duty Pleads Not Guilty

Former Oklahoma City Police Officer Daniel Holtzclaw is currently on trial for 36 counts of felony rape and sexual assault.
As an officer, he reportedly raped 13 women on different occasions while on duty.between December 2013 and June 2014. The Oklahoma City Police Department fired and arrested Holtzclaw in 2014.
Holtzclaw has pleaded not guilty.

New Hampshire Man Beats Wiretapping Charges After Recording Cops Who Raided His Home

Despite coming up with a novel argument to justify wiretapping charges against Alfredo Valentin, the New Hampshire man arrested in March for recording police as they searched his home, prosecutors were smacked down by a judge in a ruling issued last Wednesday.
“They tried to take the language from Massachusetts law, and they kind of tried to sneak it into New Hampshire law,” said Brandon Ross, Valentin’s attorney.

South Carolina Cop Will Not Face Charges for Zachary Hammond killing; Dashcam Video Released

The South Carolina cop who shot and killed Zachary Hammond, claiming the 19-year-old man was trying to run him over, making him fear for his life, will not face criminal charges, a judge announced Tuesday.
But the dashcam video, released today, shows Seneca Police Lieutenant Mark Tiller could have easily avoided killing Hammond.
After all, Hammond’s only alleged crime was that he was driving a female friend to a Hardee’s parking lot to sell marijuana to a man who turned out to be an undercover cop.

Kentucky Judge Dismisses Charges Against Man for Shooting Neighbor’s Drone Out of Sky

Back in July, PINAC reported on the arrest of William Merideth, a Kentucky man who was charged with criminal mischief and wanton endangerment for shooting a remote-controlled quadcopter out of the sky.
Merideth claimed the device was being used to spy on his daughters.
Now, a Bullitt County District Court Judge has dismissed all charges against Merideth, despite the evidence that the drone was flying much higher than Merideth claimed.
