Obama Is Being Led By Republicans Down The Wrong Path On Social Security, The Same Way He Was On Healthcare

Medicare is a progressive Democratic Party approach to healthcare. If Obama wasn't so silly he would have ignored phony GOP blandishments towards his favorite position-- compromise-- and pushed for Medicare for all, not the conservative, pro-insurance company Frankenstein's monster that became Obamacare. Social Security is another progressive Democratic idea that Republicans have a "reform" for they're selling Obama on: Chained CPI. And he's biting again! Hopefully, this time, congressional Democrats will tell him and Boehner that they're on their own.

Epochal, Generational Challenge: Climate Change vs Willful Government Dysfunction

Nostradamus I'm not but I have a strong suspicion that decades from now, historians will look back on our generation with contempt for not dealing with Climate Change. How does anyone ever make sense out of two obscenely wealthy brothers, sons of a vicious anti-American fascist-- keeping the world from saving itself so they could increase their wealth?

The Republican Party Is Now Distilled Down To A Ransom Note To America

Suicide bomber vests strapped to their chests, congressional Republicans have a message for the American people: "Give us our way, or we'll blow the whole damn thing up!" And by their way, they're talking about a lot more than defunding the Affordable Care Act. Yesterday, the NY Times Editorial Board was aghast at the Republican demands-- and they called it what it is A Republican Ransom Note.

What "Crazy Things" Is Ted Cruz (R-TX) Advocating Besides Racism?

Why not 100 Abe Lincolns? 100 Teddy Roosevelts? 100 Dwight Eisenhowers? Not a chance! Those great Republicans were do not come from the same nihilistic, anti-government and anti-democracy wing that is dominated by Ted Cruz, Michele Bachmann, Louie Gohmert and Jim DeMint, the GOP politicians that are driving today's party further and further from the mainstream of American political thought. Abe Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt and Dwight Eisenhower are celebrated by all normal Americans as genuinely crucial historical figures.
