Julian Assange’s full statement following Chelsea Manning news. Will Assange agree to a Trump DOJ trial?

On Tuesday, outgoing President Obama commuted the prison sentence of Chelsea Manning.
Chelsea Manning was convicted in 2013 of leaking classified documents about US national security activities to WikiLeaks.
The 35-year sentence handed down to the former army soldier was the longest ever imposed for a leak conviction.
Manning has served seven years of that 35 year sentence, and will now be released on May 17, 2017.

Barack Obama reduces Bradley/Chelsea Manning’s sentence

With less than three days left until he leaves office, Barack Obama has commuted Bradley/Chelsea Manning’s sentence. Manning was to be released in 2045 but will now be released in May of this year.
This surprise move is not the morally courageous move that it may appear to be. Obama, content to leave office sans dignity is clearly making a challenge to Julian Assange who recently challenged Obama to pardon Manning in return for Assange voluntarily traveling to the US to face what some would call justice, but anyone would a brain would call a show trial.

Julian Assange agrees to be extradited to the US, if outgoing POTUS Obama does this one thing

WikiLeaks said on Thursday that its founder Julian Assange will agree to be extradited to the United States if President Barack Obama grants clemency to former US soldier turned whistleblower Chelsea Manning.
WikiLeaks wrote on Twitter…

“If Obama grants Manning clemency Assange will agree to US extradition despite clear unconstitutionality of DoJ (US Department of Justice) case.”
