Charges Dropped

Imagine spending two months in jail for a robbery that you didn’t commit. Well, that is exactly what happened to an Iowa man after he was falsely charged with first-degree robbery.
Now he is suing the prosecutor that threw him in jail.
Joseph McBride, 23, was arrested for his assumed role in a January 2017 home invasion robbery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
McBride was in Phoenix at the time of his August 2017 arrest, several months after the original crime was committed.

A Harris County sheriff’s deputy was arrested for assaulting a woman in a club parking lot in Houston.
Now the charges have been dropped by the district attorney.  The deputy in question has been identified as 29-year-old Brian Jones, reports ABC 13.

“Is your shit on? Cut it off,” said a North Carolina cop after he and several other cops roughed up a man.
Body cam footage released this week shows Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers punching and elbowing James Yarborough during an arrest while Yarborough was on the ground.
One of the officers then puts a gun to Yarborough’s head and says, “I will kill you.”
Thankfully, that officer did not make good on his promise, but he later noted in his report that he feared for his life because Yarborough was reaching for his waist.

Two California men who spent seven months in jail for conspiracy to commit murder based on rap lyrics and Facebook photos that made no reference to actual murders filed a lawsuit against the San Diego Police Department Tuesday.
Police based their arrests on allegations that Brandon Duncan and Aaron Harvey were Facebook friends with suspected gang members they grew up with, using an obscure law that does not ever appear to have been used in California before the 2014 arrests.
But there was no evidence that either committed any murders or were actual gang members.

 
Homestead Police Department (HPD) has silenced the First Amendment with false stalking charges and restraining orders.
Their abuses leading to two of my three false arrest, and to me being served with four frivolous restraining orders.
Sadly, such abuses are not limited to Florida, and occur nationwide.
I have researched this new trick in the police playbook being used to stalk away the First Amendment.

Baltimore prosecutors dropped all charges today.
Last April, a young man entered the back of a western Baltimore Police paddywagon on his own two feet, complaining but otherwise healthy.
He emerged in a coma.

A former Miami cop accused of fondling a woman in the back of his patrol car escaped armed kidnapping and sexual battery charges Monday but now faces charges for buying $60,000 worth of cocaine from a confidential informant.
In 2011, Luis Hernandez picked up the 44-year-old victim from police headquarters to transport her to the Miami-Dade County jail after she was arrested following a bar brawl.
But instead of taking her to the jail, he drove her to a parking lot and told her, “I’m going to help you.”

Texas prosecutors admitted they can’t prove their contempt of cop case “BARD” against PINAC correspondent David Warden, who recorded video near a Shell Oil Refinery on the outskirts of Houston.
In other words, state attorneys had no way to prove that David Warden interfered with public duties of an officer last December, as charged, because BARD stands for ‘beyond a reasonable doubt,’ and officers couldn’t conceive of a single illegal thing Warden did while recording near the oil refinery as you can see in the legal document below.
