Much speculation has hit the internet as of late relative to what was going to happen with Italy. After Matarella vetoed the government chosen by Parliament’s Prime Ministerial designate and installed a technocrat to serve the position in the mean time, until new elections could be held, it was seen as likely. But Giuseppe Conte, the Italian political coalition’s man of the hour, managed to arrange a designation to head key government positions.

Apparently, US sanctions aren’t quite scary enough to prevent other countries from conducting commerce from Iran – and bypassing the dollar while they do it. India and Iran are saying that they’re going to trade oil, but India is going to buy that oil using rupees, instead of USD.

Despite Trump’s best efforts to isolate Iran through the imposition of sanctions both on Iran and any government or business doing commerce with Iran, its partners in the JCPOA, which Trump unilaterally withdrew the US from a few weeks ago, are committed to preserving both the nuclear accord and their business ties with Iran.
