Chinese President Xi Jinping hosted his US counterpart Donald Trump at the Palace Museum within the Forbidden City, a historic site at the heart of the capital Beijing on Wednesday.
The two presidents, who have at times been at odds over how to deal with North Korea, met for tea at the Hall of the Embodied Treasures in the Museum with both first ladies in attendance.
Chinese news media showed Xi giving Trump and the first ladies a tour of the other main halls in the museum.

Bangladesh-India anti-terror drills begin

A number of the drills between Bangladesh and India will be held in jungle and forested terrain along their border in the northeast [Xinhua]
In hopes of boosting counter-terrorism efforts across borders, India today launched a number of military drills with its neighbor Bangladesh.
The drills, titled “Exercise Sampriti”, will be held in the northeastern border states of Meghalaya and Mizoram until November 18 and be divided into two phases.
As the terrain is mountainous and is flush with jungle terrain, India’s Jungle Warfare School in Mizoram state will be involved.

Russia and Nigeria, two of the world’s major emerging markets, have signed a nuclear research and cooperation agreement on Tuesday.
Russia’s Rosatom official nuclear corporation said that the agreement was signed on the sidelines of the International Ministerial Conference on Nuclear Power in the 21st Century, held in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The conference is held under the auspices of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni arrived in India on Sunday to begin his two-day state visit in which he hopes to boost bilateral political and economic relations.
Gentiloni will meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday in talks that are likely to focus on improving ties that have been strained for over five years after two Italian marines shot and killed two Indian fishermen off the coast of Kerala in 2012.

Brazil: Temer’s surgery successful, leaves hospital Monday

Brazilian President Michel Temer is recovering in hospital from surgery to reduce the size of his prostate and is expected to be released on Monday, his doctors at Sao Paulo’s Sirio-Libanes Hospital told local media.
Temer, 77, entered hospital first on Wednesday during a session of Congress but was released the same day.
He was readmitted on Friday to continue some urologic tests, his doctors said.
