Black Lives Matter

Thirteen police officers were injured, and a security guard and a civilian also were struck by gunfire. The Mayor and Chief of Police responded with stern words against the rioters. [Now we shall see what their actions are.]

The police department's $400 million budget was cut by about $3 million. Council member Kshama Sawant was the sole "no" vote because she felt the proposals didn't go far enough. Riots broke out and Amazon, Whole Foods, and a Chase Bank were vandalized. Police Chief Carmen Best has resigned from her position.

Chicago, Illinois was looted yet again by rioters under the guise of a Black Lives Matter “protest” after a police-involved shooting of a 20-year-old gangbanger.  A local reporter incorrectly claimed that the person shot by police was a 15-year-old innocent boy.  Maybe she confused the active gang member with an innocent black youth killed on the streets by an active gang banger.  Either way, the shooting was used as an excuse to loot over 200 stores in Downtown Chicago.

A woman, 73, who uses a walker, was blocked and harassed when she tried to put out a fire in a trash barrel. She had made a BLM sign to show her support for the group but discovered the hard way that she was dealing with people who had the destruction of America as their goal, not racial justice.

Oprah Winfrey is the only self-made black billionairess in America. She may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but Oprah should be given credit for her achievements. She is said to have homes in California (a 42 acre estate),  Chicago, Florida (another estate), Hawaii, New Jersey, Washington State, and the island of Antigua.

If Donald Trump loses in November, there is a chance we could find out.
Thankfully, about the only way that can happen is if the election is stolen by the Democrats’ mail-in voting plan. Trump is unlikely to allow that to happen, but if he does lose, what then?

Black Lives Matter protesters, claiming that gentrification by White people has caused destruction of low-income Black communities, sent a letter to local businesses with the alleged goal of increasing diversity but with a more apparent goal of demanding money.

The reality is that there is more crime in minority neighborhoods, more need for police intervention, and more exposure to the possibility of excessive violence. The disintegration of support for police is a crushing blow particularly to those living in black communities where crime rates are soaring.
