By now everybody nows what happened among the far right of the Arizona Republican Party over the last few days. The state legislature passed some crackpot anti-LGBT bill that lets anyone make up some religionist excuse for discrimination against gays-- or anyone else they don't like. They passed the same crap last session but Governor Brewer vetoed it. This time Senators Flake and McCain immediately called on Brewer to veto it again-- and so did the Arizona business community. And then several Republicans in the legislature said, basically, "Oops, we screwed up. Can we get a do-over? No?

A leading civil rights group has accused Border Patrol agents of abusing the constitutional rights of U.S. citizens and legal residents living in southern Arizona.
I've had a lot of feedback-- most of it great-- after Michelangelo Signorile's post last week in HuffPo about how propounding disappointing LGBT freshmen Kyrsten Sinema (New Dem-AZ) and Sean Patrick Maloney (New Dem-NY) have been. I've been blogging about these two clowns here at DWT all year. No one in New York seems to have noticed that Maloney has the single worst (i.e., most Republican) voting record of any Democratic freshman.
The NY Times Public Editor, Margaret Sullivan, admits she detects-- or at least readers bitching at her detect-- a bias in her paper's coverage, a bias that presents the administration's propaganda as conventional wisdom.
Reactionary Arizona New Dem, Kyrsten Sinema is one of the half dozen most conservative Democrats in Congress. Her voting record on crucial roll calls is worse than even Blue Dogs Mike McIntyre's and Jim Matheson's, who both represent deep red districts (unlike her own). She votes more frequently with the GOP than even fellow Arizona ConservaDems Ann Kirkpatrick and Ron Barber. Unquestionably, she deserves to lose her seat next year.
