Which committee chair will get Trump's taxes first?I'm eager see the rosters of the House committees. With so many retirements and election losses, the Republican changes will be monumental. So far they have announced some very key chairmanship changes-- well, ranking members is what they'll have now, not chairs.

This is propagandaMembers of Congress mostly sign up for the Financial Services Committee because it's the easiest committee in Congress to sell your vote for big bucks. There are a lot of really corrupt committees, but Financial Services is numero uno. Every now and then a Democrat or two will manage to get on the committee with the express purpose of reforming it. They rarely last long.

Claire McCaskill is on a media tour denouncing not-yet-sworn-in Congresswoman-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. the soon-to-be ex-Senator from Missouri has been all over the radio and in the press denouncing the millennial progressive from New York. McCaskill seems enraged that Ocasio will be in Congress and she won't.

Blue America loves a good primary battle against a stinking incumbent-- and we've been involved with them when other Democrat groups were still looking askance at them... as though incumbents somehow "owned" the seats they were representing and and primary was an affront.

I couldn't vote in my own Twitter poll, but if I could have, I would've picked "inspirational." Maybe I should have offered "inspiring" instead. One respondent suggested "fierce" should've been an option. Another castigated me for not making "courageous" an option. As you can see, it was a battle between those who see her as inspirational and those who see her as brilliant.

There are now twenty-two members of Congress who have signed onto the Green New Deal, the most recent being Adriano Espaillat (D-NY), Gerry Connolly (D-VA) and Katherine Clark (D-MA). It's only a matter of a few weeks before not being in that Sunrise Movement graphic will be a mark of shame.

Alexandria by Nancy OhanianCurrently there are 40 members of the House Ways and Means Committee-- 24 Republicans and 16 Democrats. 9 Republicans and 2 Democrats [Joe Crowley and Sandy Levin] will not be returning to the House in January. I imagine democrats will name a good 8 new members. Members want to ben that committee because it leads to a lot of campaign contributions bribes.
