Just a day after they bombed a village in the Mayadeen area, near the ISIS capital of Raqqa, US warplanes launched yet more airstrikes, and once again the indications out of the area is that everyone slain in the attacks was a civilian, bringing the two-day toll in excess of 50.

While it wouldn’t be unusual for Syria to bomb targets belonging to al-Qaeda’s Nusra Front in the Idlib Province with airstrikes, a big hole in the US-backed allegations of a “chemical weapons attack” by the Syrian military is that there was no reason for such a strike.

MINNEAPOLIS– While the geopolitical implications of Trump’s recent airstrikes against the Syrian government have dominated both mainstream and alternative news outlets, what has been largely overlooked thus far is their economic impact. Soon after the strikes took place, crude oil prices jumped, reaching a one-month high on Friday by surpassing 55 dollars per barrel.
Launching missile salvos from warships hundreds of kilometers away from any danger is one thing, but if Donald Trump’s newly resurgent pro-regime change advisors really want to get rid of Assad, they will probably have to commit ground forces to do it.

(ANTIWAR) The US never really stopped launching airstrikes in Yemen, but during the early part of the Saudi invasion, they certainly reduced the number of direct US strikes. They seem to be picking up the pace substantially, with the Pentagon saying more than 70 strikes were launched just in March.
