I stated in an article at this blog yesterday that with the Turks now advancing into northeastern Syria as part of their long planned "Operation Peace Spring" that the situation has turned quite dire for the Kurdish forces in the region....The facts are that now with the US FINALLY withdrawing from their illegal positions and their 'bases' in northeastern Syria, the US has basically abandoned the Kurds to their own fate.... This withdrawal from Syria is actually one of the campaign promises made by US President Donald Drumpf, who actually campaigned in 2016 on the platform that the US would no longer involve itself in some of the foreign wars for Israel that have basically bankrupted the US itself...President Drumpf ordered all of the US forces operating in northeastern Syria to withdraw last week and come home, leaving the Kurds to fend for themselves...And of course with the US forces finally out of the way, the Turks have indeed launched their long planned assault to put an end to any idea of the Kurds getting their "independent state"......And of course now the Kurds, with NO so called "allies" left in the entire region, are having to seek agreements with the Damascus government for their own survival.....Penny, who of course writes the excellent blog "Penny For Your Thoughts" at www.pennyforyourthoughts2.blogspot.com, has written countless articles over this last year covering the situation in Syria and especially about the Kurds themselves... She in fact has sent me a few comments over the last few days, stating that the Kurds are getting exactly what they deserve now for what is basically their sheer arrogance and willingness to side with pure evil aka the US and Israel and stupidly believing that the criminal cabal of the US/Israel/NATO would continue to both protect them and allow them to hold onto all of northeastern Syria for their long sought independent nation of "Kurdistan".....I do agree with Penny in principal, but the facts are that as of now the Kurds are in the need for a way out or it will be genocide for all of their people... I therefore stated in yesterday's article that the ONLY choice now for the Kurds is to seek "help" from Damascus and to accept the terms that Bashar al-Assad wanted to give them over two years ago that called for them to come back into the Syrian family and give up on their stupidity of wanting "independence"......In fact, I came across the following article from the Southfront website, at www.southfront.org, that shows that the Kurdish run SDF forces in northeastern Syria are indeed wanting to seek a rapport and an "alliance" now with the Syrian government forces to stop the Turkish invasion of northeastern Syria..... Honestly, Penny may be right in that the Kurds are wanting Syria's help but in the meantime if they are able to survive, they may indeed continue to stab Damascus and the Syrian people in the back! Hypocrisy and being "two faced"? Possibly... The reality is that the Kurds absolutely do need Damascus' help for their very survival... And if they want that help, then they have to give up their criminal ways, especially their ethnic cleansing attacks on the few Syrians left in northeastern Syria, and stop the stupidity of trying to tear the Syrian nation apart...Meanwhile, the Damascus government itself has been moving a lot of forces and armaments into the Deir Ez-zor area, and are definitely planning, now that the US has rightfully left the entire area, for a new attack to reclaim much of northeastern Syria for the Syrian people.... The facts are that the Turks will try to grab a lot of northeastern Syria for themselves and their own "rebel" groups.... But again, IMHO, the Kurds are the ones that need to show their willingness to make peace with Damascus by giving up their want to destroy Syria by breaking away and trying to form their own nation! Lets face facts here... The Kurds are fucked right now and basically have pissed off the Syrian people to the point that in a lot of ways, they should not be welcomed back into the Syrian fold.... But knowing that the Syrian people only want their nation to once again be whole and that President Assad has many times made generous offers for them to be welcomed back, they should not be stupid enough now to accept those offers..... The question is if the Kurds actually do accept the proposals put out by Damascus and are welcomed back into the Syrian family, who is to say that somewhere down the line they will go back to their evil ways and try to stab the Syrian people in the back again?I will be following this Turkish invasion of Syria in some follow up articles at this blog.... It will indeed also be interesting to see what the Kurds do next, definitely!One other note.... We are seeing the US abandon their positions and their 'bases' in northeastern Syria, but I am awaiting news of the US finally giving up on their key forward operating base in southern Syria centred around the key town of Al Tanf.... Once the US does finally give up that position, then we know that they have finally lost the war to overthrow the government in Damascus and are indeed going home! It will signal to the world that Syria has indeed won its war against the criminal cabal.... That news cannot come soon enough...More to comeNTS
