Thursday, A Progressive California, an independent PAC, aired its first television ad in support of Kevin de León for U.S. Senate. I watched it being played between segments on Chris Hayes' show and thought it was really great. Take a look above.With the help of their new coalition partners at the California Nurses Association and National Nurses United, the new TV ad, titled "Act Like Democrats," is airing all across Los Angeles on MSNBC and CNN. Most of the Democratic Party coalition is too cowardly to go up against Feinstein-- even if they really want to.As you can see-- this commercial shows the stark contrast in this race between Kevin and DiFi. It contrasts a tired Washington insider who said Donald Trump "can be a good President," versus Kevin de León, a leader of California's resistance who supports Medicare for All, 100% clean energy, and a compassionate society that protects immigrants.While this is a first step in progressive groups like A Progressive California's efforts to boost Kevin de León for the U.S. Senate, the PAC's leaders say "this is only the beginning." Replacing Feinstein with him would be one of the biggest messages progressives could send to the corrupt Inside the Beltway establishment that controls the Democratic Party as thoroughly as the corrupt Inside the Beltway establishment controls the Republican Party. Real change? Yes... we're overdue for it. If we don't do it on our side of the aisle, we're going to wind up with a series of Trumps from an electorate fed up with self-serving career politicians who think they own the government. It's time to hold Dianne Feinstein accountable for decades of mediocre governance.
