This joke is fermenting
into a very serious reality.
The other day I woke up and it just hit me
in a way that it hadn’t before.
It was shock and awe at a new low
in the very culture in which I lived.
I sat at the edge of my bed and muttered
to myself “This CANNOT be happening”
over and over again. The reality
that shattered my morning that day
was of the fact that Donald Trump,
a buffoon, a bloat of ego, hatred, and big fan of bigotry,
has literally become the likely winner
of the Republican Presidential Nomination
in this fair and just democracy which allows
each and every one of us TWO entire choices.
This tampered-with and toxified democracy
has grown to such a state of corruption
that the Truth can no longer be heard
due to the endless “bleating” of the sheep.
