from Jesus of Nazareth
to Jesus the Christ
and only begotten son
Of almighty God in heaven
who comes to us in glory
seated at the right hand
of power
A long way
from the carpenter of Galilee
who whipped the money changers
from the temple
To the Roman deity
imposed by sword and whipping post
from the days of Constantine
to our own.
