Ukrainian Defense Ministry Demands 7.7 Billion More Hryvnia For War

Ukraine’s Defense Ministry asks for another 7.7 bln
KYIV: The Defense Ministry of Ukraine has appealed to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine with the request to provide additional funding in the amount of UAH 7.7 billion in 2015.
“In view of increasing number of personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine after the adoption of the Law of Ukraine ‘On the Armed Forces of Ukraine’ and conduct of partial mobilization, the Defense Ministry of Ukraine asks to provide UAH 7.7 billion to meet the immediate needs in 2015,” the Ministry notes.
Of this sum, UAH 3.9 billion are to be allocated to pay money allowances to the servicemen, UAH 1.8 billion – to provide clothing and equipment supply, UAH 1.3 billion – to provide feeding support to servicemen. In addition, another UAH 432.5 million are needed to pay assistance to the families of the dead and wounded soldiers, who took part in the anti-terrorist operation, UAH 181.8 million – to arrange training centers, landfills, field camps and checkpoints, as well as UAH 120 million – to pay compensation for hiring military premises.
