The Syrian Arab Army has retaken a southeast key part of the Damascus suburbs on Thursday. The town is important to the Syrian government because it is a gateway to Ghouta, a jihadist stronghold. With taking back Mleiha, the Syrian Arab Army can prevent the jihadists from firing rockets and mortars in Damascus, the capital city of Syria. The Syrian Arab Army has been fighting jihadists forces in Mleiha for months. Even though there are still some clashes between the government forces and jihadist groups, Mleiha is being considered as liberated.
A large number of terrorists have been killed and many of them are still being pursued by the Syrian Arab Army in the fields who are trying to flee. The liberation of Mleiha is a big blow to the jihadists and the Syrian Arab Army is still advancing. The Syrian Arab Army is also advancing in Aleppo.
