Why They Hate Us

We have freedom of religion
as long as we’re not Moslems,
we have political freedom
as long as we’re not anarchists
We have freedom of assembly
as long as we have a police permit,
we have freedom to organize
as long as it’s not a labor union
We have freedom of travel
as long as we’re off the no-fly list,
we have freedom to go abroad
as long as we don’t stop in Cuba
We have freedom of speech
as long as no one listens to us,
we have freedom to dream
as long as we don’t wake up.
