What is There to Fear

what is there to
fear except
for the fear you
bring to
the table like
leaflets
dropped from metal
skies let’s
secure the homeland
you can’t
call it fatherland
you know
how that turned out
and our
other ‘enemy’ called
their nine
time zone landmass
motherland
better off weaponizing
our cereal
and turn the homeland
into westworld
as if living in fear is
as natural as
sabre-toothed tigers
chasing us
there are no futures
of jetpacks
just empty promises
that they’ve
made poison taste
better
