To a War Hero

No, I’m sorry
when you’re 9,000 miles from home
and are dropping bombs
from a multi-million dollar airplane
On people
who live in thatched huts
and goatskin tents
and mudbrick compounds
You are not a hero
you are a war criminal
and have no business running
for president or for dogcatcher
You belong in shackles
before a tribunal of law
and should be turned over for justice
to the survivors of your actions.
