Syria: Russian/US Troops Collide, Pipelines Explode and more- Birth Pangs

Love the spin from the Kurdish media! Russian Vehicles Ram US Convoy in N/E Syria- Injuring Troops. With intention. And, malice the Russian’s RAMMED the US Convoy. Ah, the Kurdish media. Always spinning for the remake on the behalf of their benefactors.Washington Post: Russia Blames US for MilitaryVehicle Collision

“U.S. officials said Wednesday that a Russian vehicle sideswiped a light-armored U.S. military vehicle, injuring four Americans, while two Russian helicopters flew overhead, one as close as 20 meters (70 feet) from the U.S. vehicle.U.S. National Security Council spokesman John Ullyot said in a statement that a Russian vehicle struck the American vehicle near Dayrick, in northeast Syria. He blamed the Russian military for “unsafe and unprofessional actions” that breached deconfliction protocols between the two countries. In Thursday’s statement, the Russian Defense Ministry said Gen. Valery Gerasimov, chief of the Russian military’s General Staff, had a phone call Wednesday with Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, to discuss the incident. In the call, Gerasimov pointed out that the Russian military had notified the U.S.-led coalition about the route of a Russian military police convoy.“Despite that, in violation of the existing agreements, the U.S. troops attempted to block the Russian patrol,” the ministry said in a statement. “In response to that, the Russian military police took the necessary measures to prevent an incident and to continue the fulfillment of their task.”“

It seems vastly more likely to me the US violated existing agreements, blocking the Russian patrol, who then opted to continue on with the task at hand without faltering.

While there have been several other recent incidents between the American and Russian troops who patrol eastern Syria, U.S. officials described the latest incident as the most serious one. U.S. troops are usually accompanied by members of the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces. The U.S. and Russia have deconfliction protocols to prevent collisions and other incidents and their military commanders have frequent conversations to try to avoid contact between their troops there.

Syria: Gas Pipeline Blast was Terrorist Attack; US Suspects ISISUS Suspects “ISIS” Note the extensive denial of service to vast swathes of Syria? Tell me this is NOT an action undertaken by the coalition with their interchangeable KurdIShIS partners! And I’ll tell you you’re a fool.

An explosion early Monday struck a gas pipeline in a Damascus suburb, causing a huge fire and cutting off electricity throughout Syria, state media reported, citing the country's electricity and oil ministers.Ghanem, the oil minister, said the pipeline was attacked in this same desert area six times in recent years. He said it pumps some 7 million cubic meters of natural gas to power stations that supply much of Syria with electricity.U.S. Syria envoy James Jeffrey said the attack was “almost certainly a strike" by the Islamic State group. The extremists were driven from the last bit of territory under their control in Syria last year, but sleeper cells continue to carry out sporadic attacks.Jeffrey said there has been an upsurge in IS activities in desert areas in eastern and southeastern Syria near the border with Jordan and Iraq.

“Assessments show that the explosion...was the result of a terrorist attack,” Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali Ghanem said, quoted by state news agency SANA. He did not provide further detail. In Geneva, the U.S. envoy for Syria, James Jeffrey, said there had been an upsurge in Islamic State activity in the southeast of the Syrian desert.

Yah, the south east of the Syrian desert.  Right in the vicinity of that US camp. Al Tanf The attack on the pipeline occurred right as the Astana meetings were taking place (timing?)Syrian Talks in Geneva- Paused temporarily for "covid"

The Syrian peace talks had started well Monday, according to the main opposition leader, Hadi al-Bahra, former head of the Syrian National Coalition for Opposition and Revolutionary Forces and the meeting’s co-chair.But the talks were halted due to four of the participants’ testing positive for the novel coronavirus, the UN had said.Ahmad Kuzbari, representing the Bashar al-Assad regime as co-chair, was not available for comment after the talks halted. The UN did not say which delegation among 45 participants was found to have the virus

We’re the alleged positive covid tests being deployed as a stalling tactic? Recent Related:
