SUNDAY SCREENING: ‘The World Within’ – Carl Jung: In His Own Words (1990)

21st Century Wire says…
This week’s documentary film presentation, curated by our editorial team at 21WIRE.
Continuing with today’s theme of social engineering and defining ‘The New Euro Man’, we unearthed this excellent vérité documentary produced by Justin Wagner, featuring a rare long form interview with on the 20th (and 21st) century’s most influential psychologists and philosophers, Dr. Carl Gustav Jung. The work of Jung has been credited for a number on modern insights and breakthroughs into behaviour and the human mind. He was also a controversial figure and some of his work has been co-opted by social engineers and powerful interests in order to manipulate the public for commercial and political ends. In this film, Jung challenges the viewer to look past the ‘political man’ or woman, and instead search for the spiritual individual and to understand both the power and purpose of unconscious mythological symbols and archetypes which are omnipresent across cultures and continents, and across millennia too. Understanding Jung, his ideas and his motivations is essential if one is to successfully navigate the modern matrix we live in. Watch:
