Alison Krauss & Robert Plant– “When the Levee Breaks”
Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant and renowned bluegrass singer Allison Krauss step out of their comfort zones on this week’s Soothing the Beast BFP/Jamiol Music Pick. Krauss and Plant collaborated on When the Levee Breaks and a slew of other songs back in 2007. This particular song is a blues song written and first recorded by husband and wife Kansas Joe McCoy and Memphis Minnie in 1929. The song is in reaction to the upheaval caused by the Great Mississippi Flood of 1927. It is my favorite of the Krauss/Plant collaboration…hope you enjoy…DJPJ.
