NATO Integration: Georgian Military Chief At Pentagon

Chief of General Staff continues meetings in the U.S.

Maj. Gen. Vakhtang Kapanadze continues meetings in the United States. Chief of the General Staff of Georgian Armed Forces held a meeting with Vice Chief of National Guard Bureau in Pentagon Lt. Gen. Joseph L. Lengyel.
The sides discussed the perspectives of cooperation between the national guards of Georgia and the US state of Georgia and agreed upon the concrete issues. The generals set plans of conducting joint exercises. The American side expressed a full readiness of deepening cooperation with Georgia.
The top military officials discussed regional security issues and Georgia`s NATO integration prospects. The sides referred to the ISAF and “Resolute Support” missions as well. Lt. Gen. Joseph L. Lengyel thanked Georgia for the contribution provided in the fight for international security.
Within the frames of the official visit to the U.S. Maj. Gen. Vakhtang Kapanadze also met with Joseph W. Rixey Director of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA).
