As Israel continues its periodic incursions into neighboring Lebanon’s airspace, southern Lebanese resistance force Hezbollah is countering IDF provocations in a dangerous high-tech game of risk.
Earlier this month, Israel’s IDF deployed a drone supposedly to conduct “routine operations to secure the border” which was promptly brought down by Hezbollah as it entered Lebanese airspace.
In late August, Israel also sent spy drones armed with C4 explosives to attack Hezbollah’s offices in south Beirut. Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah responded by warning that his organization would respond with strikes “deep inside Israel” should Israel continue to mount provocations inside Lebanese territory.
This week, the IDF sent yet another drone to test border defenses of Lebanon’s resistance forces…

Al Masdar News reports….
BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:30 A.M.) – Hezbollah’s Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah told Al-Manar on Friday that Israel believed the resistance would not dare to use anti-aircraft missiles against their air force.
“But the resistance has proved that they have the courage to use these weapons,” Sayyed Nasrallah told the Hezbollah-owned Al-Manar TV broadcaster. “What happened in the south was a confrontation with an Israeli drone; this is normal.”
“Our aim is to clean up the Lebanese airspace from Israeli violations, and what happened came in the context of something that will continue, and this is separate from any developments at home,” he continued.
On Thursday, Al-Mayadeen TV reported that Hezbollah’s air defense forces shot down an Israeli drone that entered Lebanese airspace from the country’s southern border.

Al-Mayadeen said the drone had entered the Nabatieh Governorate of southern Lebanon from the Upper Galilee region.
The Israeli army said an anti-aircraft missile was fired from Lebanese territory at one of its drones, but they contrasted Hezbollah’s claims by saying they missed the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).
An army spokesman released the statement on Twitter after the Lebanese television station Al-Mayadeen reported an Israeli drone was shot down near the southern Lebanese city of Nabatiyeh.
