Injustice Everywhere

Sitting on a bus in the high occupancy lane
The other lanes are moving, but not ours – that’s insane
The two-passenger minimum lets in too many cars
But it will never change because we’re stuck with stupid laws
A legislator’s tenure depends on status quo
Defying rich supporters is not “PC”, you know
Teachers work their hearts out and earn a paltry pittance
While athletes rake in millions and scoff at their remittance
Some players are hacked and mugged and never get the foul
Yet others get every little call and they still gripe and growl
Referees play “god” with no conscience or humility
And change the outcome of the game with no accountability
Today’s doctors are callous with their schedules overbooked
Their oath to serve mankind has been haughtily overlooked
Attorneys wield their knowledge to manufacture fees
Destroying the constitution, bringing justice to its knees
Thieves and killers out in five, their lawyers cut a deal
Poor men up on petty crimes – ten years and no appeal
Ghosts named Bin Laden are executed without a trial
Bush kills millions, Cheney profits – the U.S. in denial
“Civilized man needs land” justifies the ravages
Displace and kill the natives – it’s all right – they’re savages
Nothing much has changed, profiteering is no mystery
We’re hypocrites that haven’t learned a damn thing from history
MLK was right – “injustice anywhere’s a threat”
Give Israel more money, increase our national debt
Ignorance and corruption influence our decision
More lands filched, civilians bombed, and children kept in prison
Evil men have seized power!
Does no one even care?
Truth has been abandoned!
There’s injustice everywhere!
