Bombers, Gunmen Leave 48 Dead, 43 Hurt Across Iraq

Yesterday's assassination attempt on two Sunni politicians, including the deputy prime minister, has taken on a new twist. Although there are conflicting reports as to the actual events that occurred, it is becoming apparent that Iraqi army soldiers were the ones who fired upon the convoy during some kind of dispute. Meanwhile, at least 48 people were killed today, and another 53 were wounded.
